Crafts Day at the Glassworks
24. 5. 2025 | 10:00–17:00
Let’s experience the magic of skilled Czech hands together! Discover and try both traditional and modern crafts, including the renowned handmade glassmaking, a proud part of UNESCO’s cultural heritage.
New this year: your ticket for tours and creative experiences now includes entry to the craft market and live demonstrations by master glass cutters.
Who will you meet? You can mint your own commemorative medal and try hand-printing a postcard to take home. Look forward to meeting carpenters and scribes. If you answer all the questions correctly in the visitor’s card, you’ll receive a commemorative silver coin and an apprentice certificate. You can also make your own candle and watch a master rope maker at work.
Already familiar with these crafts? Then visit our “Guess the Craft” booth, where you can test your knowledge by identifying old tools and guessing their purpose and users.
What else awaits you? Games and competitions, a craft market, a wire craftsman’s workshop, a beading station, a gingerbread workshop, a blacksmith, and more!
Rückl Glassworks, crafting hand-cut crystal for over 120 years, will showcase the exceptional artistry of its renowned master cutters. Throughout the day, you’ll witness live demonstrations of works from the GCWC glass-cutting competition.
Guided tours and creative experiences will take place throughout the day at the glassworks. Your ticket for the tour and creative experiences also includes free entry to the craft market and live demonstrations by master glass cutters.
There is no age limit for guided tours. Creative experiences are suitable for children aged 6 and up, as well as adults of all ages. Younger children can participate with the help of an adult.
Book your tickets in advance and enjoy an unforgettable experience!
We look forward to welcoming you!
The store will be open during the event, and as a bonus, you’ll also find a craft market on-site, where you can purchase original products made by skilled hands, preserving traditions and a love for crafting passed down through generations.
The Rückl Glassworks bistro, run by the artisanal bakery Just Bake, will serve the best cakes and treats to accompany your coffee.
Please park outside the glassworks premises, either at the parking lot behind the bridge near the BMX track, by the gas station, or at other designated spots in the village of Nižbor. The glassworks area will be fully utilized for the event.
